Sports in Austin, TX

Texas is football country and Austin is no exception, seeing as we're home to the University of Texas Longhorns (2005 National Champions). Tailgating is a religion around here, and on game day you can head to the stadium in your burnt orange gear to be among the fans. Do not, I repeat, do NOT wear your USC sweatshirt around here, Californians.

We also have a minor league baseball team (Round Rock Express) and are 1 hour away from the Spurs home games in San Antonio.

In terms of playing sports, Travel + Leisure named Austin as one of the top cities for athleticism.
